This page is a vibrating plate. Sand is thrown off wherever it moves and comes to rest on the lines that stay still.
Each project has its own frequency. Point at one, or on a phone scroll it up under the plate, and the plate takes its pattern.
Draw a line on the open plate, or on a phone in the space above the text, or below the index once you reach the end. The plate looks for a way to vibrate that keeps your line still. It can only vibrate in certain patterns, so it answers with the closest: your line, roughly, and lines you didn't draw. It rests there, now and then opens into another pattern that also fits, and returns.
Your line sounds once as you let go. Tap the plate and it sounds where it moves; on a line of sand it stays quiet.
Others may be here with you. You never see them, only feel them: a tremor where they touch, a lean in the lines. The last lines anyone drew stay for later visitors, wearing away over days.
Left alone, every open page plays the same figures at the same moment: the latest line first, then the index.
